About

Collide-A-Scape is a blog that covers a broad spectrum of environmental issues, such as climate change and natural resource uses. I’m interested in exploring the fault lines of environmental debates, where foundational causes ripple beneath, largely unseen.

I’ve worn two hats in my career as a journalist–that of editor and writer. I’ve been freelancing for over ten years, publishing in a range of publications, from Science to Smithsonian. Since 2004, I’ve been an adjunct professor of journalism at New York University.

From 2000 to 2008, I also was an editor at Audubon Magazine. During the 2008-2009 academic year, I was a Fellow at the University of Colorado’s Center for Environmental Journalism, in Boulder. There, I studied the connection between drought and the collapse of prehistoric cultures in the American Southwest.

I’m currently freelancing full-time.
