Marc Morano is touting this accolade that refers to him as a “master of parody.” Eager to live up to his billing, I see Marc is running this ad at the top of Climate Depot.
I wonder if his funding is running out.
I wonder if Marc Morano sees the irony in his repetitive and highly exaggerated banner headlines, such as the one screaming across the site today:
Meltdown of the Climate ‘Consensus’–’Global Warming Establishment Takes a Body Blow’
The best thing is that this header is literally ripped from the New York Post. Yup, it’s a done deal, then.
Unlike Democrats, Republicans are renowned for their ability to stay on message. As I suggested here, Marc Morano has cunningly exploited recent events to help craft a narrative that will have short-term staying power. So unless he’s getting cocky, this foot stomping imagery probably isn’t what he intended. Yet here he is, going in for the kill:
I seriously believe we should kick them while they’re down. They deserve to be publicly flogged.
Marc, very unsportsmanlike of you.
He exploits everything–even a noble man’s death– to score cheap points for his side. Was it really necessary to play up Borlaug’s vague statements on climate change in this article, Marc?
Look, I’m already on record about the value of Morano’s site. I also get a ton of traffic every time he links to me; I’m glad when it happens because as I have argued, he has a constituency that I think is important to communicate with. Let me also say I have a soft spot for him. The guy is unfailingly congenial and polite. And he has a sense of humor. If I was stranded on a desert island because of global warming and I had a choice to live out my days with either Morano or Joe Romm, it’s no contest.
If I was stuck with Romm, I’d be miserable watching him putter around with that sour puss, muttering, “I told them so…” Whereas a happy-go-lucky Morano would shrug his shoulders just once and say, “my bad…”
Seriously, Marc, sometimes you have to know when to exercise a little restraint and good taste.

Not a peep from Climate Depot about this hearing and the climate climate change concerns expressed by former Senator John Warner and military brass. When it comes to mocking so-called climate alarmism, Morano rarely misses an opportunity. Yet this is twice in the past week.
I guess the national security angle doesn’t fit the master narrative he’s trying to convey at Climate Depot. Or he doesn’t want to take pot shots at the miltiary. Probably both.
LATER: In an email to me this morning, Morano writes that, “I posted at least two articles on the vaunted ‘military’ angle you think I am so afraid of. Search my page right now…you owe me a correction!!!”
I know my eyes are in need of new specs but all I see is a link to this blog post with this Morano headline:
“Just When You Thought Global Warming Couldn’t Get More Stupid, In Walks John Kerry.”
And a link to this news story with this Morano headline:
“Laughable: Senate warned US will be ‘dragged into conflict if global climate change goes unchecked.’”
Ok, I did initially see the first Morano headline and I based my argument on the fact that he was mocking Kerry and not Warner or the retired military officials. That was convenient of Morano. As for his second “Laughable” link (which I only just saw), Morano clearly is poking fun at the testimony–that much I’ll grant– but he still refuses to zing the military brass or Warner in the personal manner that he reserves for Kerry, democrats and climate scientists that assert climate change is for real.
As soon as I see him demonstrate that–and he’ll have more opportunities–I’ll be sure to note it.
EVEN LATER: Scanning Climate Depot late Friday, I noticed that Morano links here with this top headline:
Laughable: Fmr. Sen. Warner: “There’s a building base of evidence that global warming is contributing to much of the instability of the world today.”
